Through these integrated projects, our Farmer Producer Organisation is working to transform the rural community from subsistence-based primary production into a resilient, value-driven agricultural ecosystem. By strengthening processing, value addition, climate-resilient farming, bio-input systems, and digital market access, each initiative is designed to generate sustainable livelihoods, restore natural resources, and enhance farmer ownership across the entire value chain. To scale this vision, we actively seek strategic partnerships with government agencies, financial institutions, corporates, development organisations, and research institutions for financial support, technical expertise, and institutional collaboration. With the right partnerships, our FPO aims to evolve into a replicable model for the more than 44,000 FPOs across India and for farming communities in other developing countries facing similar structural challenges.

Within this transformation, addressing gender inequality remains central. In rural agricultural systems, women form the backbone of farm and allied labour, yet their contribution is often invisible and undervalued. Despite undertaking physically demanding and time-intensive work across production and post-harvest activities, women frequently receive lower wages, face insecure working conditions, and remain excluded from skills training, asset ownership, and decision-making roles. This systemic imbalance not only perpetuates poverty but also entrenches intergenerational inequality within farming households and communities.

As an FPO, we believe that meaningful rural transformation is impossible without gender equity. Our approach prioritises equal pay for equal work, creation of dignified, year-round employment beyond seasonal farm labour, and integration of women into value-added activities such as processing, bio-input production, and enterprise management. We actively promote women’s participation in governance, leadership, and shareholding—enabling a transition from labourers to stakeholders. Through safer workplaces, skills development, and shared economic ownership, we seek to restore dignity, agency, and opportunity to women, while setting a scalable model for inclusive and sustainable agriculture.

WITH OUR FARMERS: With the Farmers: Projects Driving Innovation

Project 1: Honey Processing Plant (5 MT per Day)
To address the absence of honey processing infrastructure in Pratapgarh, BMFPCL is establishing a 5 MT per day honey processing plant in collaboration with SFAC and the National Bee Board (NBB). Scheduled to commence from February 2026, this 75 lakh project will strengthen the beekeeping value chain, ensure fair pricing to honey producers, and reduce distress sales. The project supports SDG 1 and SDG 8 by enhancing rural incomes and creating decent local employment, SDG 5 by engaging women in processing and allied activities, SDG 13 and SDG 15 through pollination-led biodiversity conservation, and SDG 17 through strong institutional partnerships. This facility will act as a regional hub for sustainable apiculture and farmer-led growth.

Project 2: ODOP Amla Value-Addition & Processing Project
Under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, our FPO is implementing an integrated Amla value-addition project supported by the Ministry of MSME under the SFURTI scheme, with a total project cost of 3.9 crore. Amla, being the district’s primary horticultural crop, offers strong potential to meet the growing demand for health-focused products.

Key Products:

  • Dehydrated Amla powder
  • Amla-based functional soft drink infused with honey and mint
  • Amla-based probiotic beverage for gut health

The project strengthens farmer incomes and employment (SDG 1 & 8), increases women’s participation in value-added processing (SDG 5), promotes climate-conscious and low-waste processing practices (SDG 13), ensures sustainable raw material sourcing (SDG 15), and showcases effective institutional collaboration (SDG 17).

Project 3: CDP – Cluster Development Programme (NHB Supported)

Under the Cluster Development Programme (CDP) of the National Horticulture Board (NHB), our FPO proposes an integrated horticulture cluster with a total investment of 8 crore, covering production, post-harvest, and market linkage.

Pre-Production & Production
• High-tech tissue culture laboratory
• Promotion of fruit-bearing plants and agroforestry species

Post-Harvest & Value Addition
• Dehydration chamber
• Modern pack house
• Cold storage facility
• Dedicated sorting and grading line

Logistics, Marketing & Branding
• Integrated e-commerce platform
• QR-based traceability for produce
• Strengthened branding and market access

This project supports SDG 1, 8, 13, and 15 through sustainable livelihoods and ecological restoration, while partnerships and financial assistance under SDG 17 are essential to operationalise the project at scale.

Project 4: Bio-Input Resource Centre (BRC)

The Bio-Input Resource Centre (BRC) is a 2 crore initiative aimed at reducing farmers’ dependence on chemical fertilisers and promoting sustainable, soil-restorative agriculture.

Key Interventions:
• Production and distribution of bio-fertilisers and bio-inputs
• Establishment of a vermicompost production unit
• Promotion of natural farming practices
• Adoption of organic farming models across member farms

The BRC strengthens farmer incomes and soil health (SDG 1 & 15), creates green rural livelihoods (SDG 8), supports climate-resilient and low-emission agriculture (SDG 13), empowers community-led sustainable practices (SDG 5), and encourages institutional collaboration and technical partnerships (SDG 17).

This centre will serve as a replicable village-level model for sustainable agriculture and long-term ecosystem regeneration.

FOR THE FPO’S:

Organizations (FPOs) operate, and Belha Mai Farmers Producer Company Limited is at the forefront of this change. With the development of the FPO Samridhi App, supported by IIT Kanpur, we are addressing two critical challenges faced by FPOs across the country:

  • Enhanced Member Connectivity: Recognizing the communication gap between FPOs and their members, we’ve created the FPO Samridhi App to build stronger connections and streamline communication.
  • Dedicated E-Commerce Platform:
Recognizing the difficulties FPOs face in selling their branded produce in a highly competitive market, we are developing an exclusive e-commerce platform. This innovation will empower FPOs nationwide to sell their products online, boosting their reach and profitability. These digital initiatives mark a significant step in fostering growth and sustainability for FPOs.

WITH THE CORPORATES/ GOVernment institutions/ international agencies/ NGO’S:

Achieving holistic and sustainable change in rural India requires strong collaboration between Farmer Producer Organisations, corporates, government institutions, international agencies, and non-governmental organisations. While FPOs bring deep community trust and on-ground execution capacity, strategic partners contribute financial resources, policy support, technical expertise, innovation, and global best practices. Such partnerships enable integrated interventions across livelihoods, gender equality, climate resilience, natural resource management, and market access—directly advancing multiple Sustainable Development Goals. By aligning grassroots action with institutional strengths, collaborative efforts can scale impact, accelerate implementation, and ensure long-term sustainability. Partnering with us offers a unique opportunity to deliver measurable outcomes at the community level while contributing meaningfully to India’s and the global commitment to achieve the SDGs by 2030, transforming rural landscapes into resilient, inclusive, and economically vibrant ecosystems.
